Stanhope Cricket & Sports Club

  1. Name

The Club shall be called the Stanhope Cricket & Sports Club.

 

  1. Objects of the Club

To encourage the development of cricket within Weardale.

To promote the club and sports within the local community.

To offer coaching at all levels and provide opportunities for competitive cricket.

 

  1. Membership

Membership fees will be set annually and determined at the AGM.

Membership will become effective on payment of the subscription.

Election to Membership of the Club will be at the sole discretion of the committee.

All members will be subject to the Regulations of the Constitution and by joining the Club, will be deemed to accept these regulations and the Codes of Conduct that the Club has adopted.

Fees will be paid by annual subscriptions and will become due on the 1st January of each year.

A member whose subscription is in arrears by the start of the AGM shall neither vote nor enjoy the privileges of membership.

A full list of members shall be available from the Membership Secretary.

 

  1. General Meetings

The Annual General Meeting shall be held in February each year. The date and place of the meeting shall be announced at least fourteen days in advance.  All members to be advised.

The Management Committee has the right to call Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs).

Procedures for EGMs will be the same as for AGMs.

An EGM must be called by the Secretary on receiving a request in writing from at least ten members, and the business for which it is requested must be specified.

At a General Meeting of the Club no vote shall be taken on any motion involving the rules, or finance of the Club unless notice of that motion has been stated in the Agenda under the fourteen day rule.

A quorum for any General Meeting of the Club shall be twelve members and any motion involving the rules, or finance of the Club must be approved by two thirds of those voting.

The AGM will receive a report from Officers of the Management Committee and a statement of the audited accounts.

Nominations and election of Officers will take place at the AGM.

All members have the right to vote at the AGM.

 

  1. Management

The Management of the Club shall be vested in a Management Committee consisting of Offices elected at the AGM.

At a meeting of the Committee, a quorum shall consist of six members.

The Committee shall have the powers to fill vacancies until the following AGM and to co-opt additional members.

Members will have the powers to appoint sub-committees for specific issues.

The team selectors shall be appointed by the Committee at the beginning of each season.

The Management Committee will be convened by the Secretary of the Club and held no less than twelve times per year.

Members of the Management Committee will be responsible for disciplinary hearings of members who infringe the Rules, Constitution or Codes of Conduct of the Club.  They will be responsible for taking any action deemed necessary following such a hearing.

The Management Committee shall have the power to rescind, amend, alter or add new rules in order to comply with new legislation.

 

  1. Trustees

Trustees shall be appointed by the Management Committee and the Property of the Club (other than cash which will be under the control of the Treasurer) shall be vested in them to be dealt with by them as the Committee shall direct.  The Trustees shall be indemnified against risk and expense out of the Club property.
